Martine is the primary populated world within the Hyde system county and is under the control of the Humankind Empire of Abh. Martine orbits an F-type star in the life zone and was presumably colonized years earlier by a colony ship from Sol or another of the many early nations.
Background[]
Little is known of the planet Martine prior to becoming part of the Abh Empire but it has a history of democratic government under a President and its people are wary of the ways of the Abh. Martine features both urban and rural living environments, from relaxed forest cottages to large arcology skyscrapers in its major cities.
Military[]
The Military on Martine consists of a standing army as well as several ground based defenses consisting of laser cannons, ballistic missile silos, and Big Charlie. Prior to the arrival of the empire, there were also several satellites known as the Erikson space defense system which were quickly destroyed by the Abh space probe before the fleet arrived.
Government[]
Martine has a democratic government lead by a president assisted by a cabinet of advisers. Presumably there is a representative legislative branch and a judiciary in addition to the executive. After the arrival of the Empire, this government focuses solely on domestic affairs and falls beneath the Abh nobility, in this case, Count Hyde.
